"Partners In Compassion"
The Ludhiana Christian Medical College Board, USA Inc. began in the early 1900's as a small
church committee in a local church. These caring individuals in Pennsylvania were inspired
by a visiting missionary from Ludhiana, inspired to reach out with hope & healing to people
in India. Their goal was to extend missionary support to help people who otherwise wouldn't
receive help. They wanted to make a difference.
Other churches became involved, and in 1966 the USA Board was incorporated as a non-profit
501(c)(3) agency. In 2004 we became a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability
(ECFA). The ECFA is "committed to helping Christ-centered organizations earn the public's
trust through developing and maintaining standards of accountability that convey God-honoring
ethical practices."
Our Mission
To share the compassionate care & healing love of Christ with the people of India through
quality Christian medical education, and to support and promote the work of Christian Medical
College & Hospital Ludhiana.
Our Team
We currently have 16 Board members from across the country serving on the USA Board. They
represent a variety of Christian denominations/agencies and include medical personnel, clergy
and business people. Most have served in Ludhiana. All are highly dedicated to the goals of
CMC Ludhiana.
Executive Director Reverend Roberta K. Jones has been serving on the Ludhiana Board since
1995. Prior to this position, Roberta worked with the United Methodist Committee on Relief,
and also spent several years in mission work in Taiwan and Korea. She is a clergy member of
the Central Pennsylvania Conference.
Roberta's tireless dedication to Ludhiana is an inspiration. She visits Ludhiana several times
a year and can often be found speaking with churches and groups here in Colorado and across the
U.S., constantly striving to help the people of Ludhiana achieve their goals.
Our Work
Founder Dame Edith Mary Brown's motto was, "My work is for a King." And as you can probably
imagine, there is always work to be done.
